POLYKEN  980-25 
Basic corrosion protection tape (one-sided adhesive)  
in corrosion protection systems in class B30 according  
to EN 12068. 
 
APPLICATION 
• In corrosion protection coatings of steel pipelines, steel 
tanks and fittings in underground and underwater buildings. 
 
FEATURES & ADVENTAGES 
• High adhesion to the primered steel surface and on the 
overlap. 
• Creates a uniform, compact coating. 
• Compatible with most factory coatings. 
• Minimal vapor permeability. 
• High dielectric strength. 
 
 
USAGE 
• Condition tha tape before application at 15÷30 0 C. 
• Apply the tape to the prepared surface to the cleanliness 
degree Sa 2 ½ (according to ISO 8501), covered with  
a primer after reaching the dust dry condition.  
In justified cases, it is allowed to prepare the surface to the 
degree of cleanliness St3 (mechanically, using steel 
rotating brushes). 
• Wrap the tape around the surface spirally by hand or hand 
wrapping machine with tension causing 1-2% width 
reduction. (please see the detailed coating instruction 
before application). 
 
STORAGE 
• Store the product in dry area in original packaging. 
• Protect the cartons against mechanical damage. 
• The recommended storage temperature: up to 250C.
